Originally by: Horatio Starkiller Indeed I have not judged or attacked the FoM for accepting Ben Freegate into their ranks, FoM are worthy allies.
Employing a self-confessed pirate who runs rather than accepting his just desserts doesn't sound very worthy to me.

Edited by: Rodj Blake on 27/07/2004 14:38:42 From another thread...
Quote: Edited by: Horatio Starkiller on 19/07/2004 14:30:38 ...Anyway, back to the topic... Ben Freegate = Pirate = Member of AA = Ally of PIE. Even my simply mind can understand that.
Do I need to amend Horatio's equation to take into account the changed circumstances?

I'd love to pull a quote from one of your other galnet transmissions but my software is buggy, but don't you claim that everyone is re-deemable*? Or is this only the case if it's by begging at your false gods feet.
*Frosty is or in the process of being re-deemed in your eyes, but to us he's fallen down a very dark pit.
I do believe in redemption, but it could be argued that Ben Freegate passed up on his opportunity when he refused to accept his punishment (he has been been very quick to point out that he left AMAX before he was ejected).
My main concern is the apparent moral inconsistencies being displayed by some of your terrorist allies, firstly condemning Ben for his piratical actions, and then accepting him into their ranks without him even apologising for those acts.

I thought we were 'freedom fighters' and 'defenders of the empire'

not lawyers.
edit: and zool is right it's not my business, I answered your question be satisfied with my answer.
If only the Minmatar rebels had gone to the Imperial courts to attempt to secure their freedom rather than resorting to violence, a lot of unpleasantness could have been avoided.

Did I actually condemn him or just point out what he did for the galnet to see?
There's often a pretty fine line between the two. Too fine for some one who wants everyone to keep out the lawyers, I'd say.
I'd say that the difference between pointing out actions so that your friends can condemn them, and condemning those actions yourself is non-existent.

Sounds like the few CVA pilots we see running around near Misaba periodically.
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here. The CVA does from time to time engage in anti-piracy operations in the vicinity of Misaba. Innocent traders and miners have nothing to fear, as we are dedicated to keeping the spacelanes open. Pirates on the other hand, will be dealt with swiftly and violently.

Originally by: Sajuuk Cor My point.. you whine about a pilot running from his just desserts.
The CVA pilots i've seen around Misaba recently, have all run to avoid combat.
Quite surprising, since the CVA claims to be an anti-pirate/anti-terrorist organization...and you consider all of SC to be pirates/terrorists.
Were the pilots going to kill me from their safe spots??
And what exactly do the CVA's activities around Misaba have to do with Ben Freegate flying in an Oracle gang?

Originally by: Makkar Rodj, to my knowledge, Ben Freegate has never been in an Oracle gang. The only corp Oracle is likely to be ganged with on combat ops (for various reasons) is TPFM.
The original question has been answered. Twice, by myself alone. Make this a third and final answer; Yes, we would fight alongside Ben Freegate. We're Freedom Fighters - Whatever moral objection you may have to us fighting alongside self confessed pirates in the cause of freedom, you may rest assured we do not share.
ISD Please lock this thread, it's going way off topic.
Makkar, I wasn't trying to score points, merely pointing out that the discussion was deviating from the original question of "would Oracle and Ben Freegate fly together in the same gang?", which I accept you had already answered.
